Welcome!
I’m going Hands Free. I want to make memories, not to-do-lists. I want to feel the squeeze of my daughter's arms, not the pressure of over-commitment. I want to get lost in conversation with my spouse, not consumed by a sea of unimportant emails. I want to be overwhelmed by sunsets that give me hope, not by extracurricular commitments that steal my joy. I want the noise of my life to be a mixture of laughter and gratitude, not the intrusive buzz of cell phones and text messages. I am letting go of distraction, disconnection, and perfection to live a life that simply, so very simply, consists of what really matters. I’m going Hands Free. And if this sounds like a life you want to start living, come along. A Hands Free revolution starts here! I hope you will join me!Join The Hands Free Revolution on Facebook

How Do You Go Hands Free?

A New Fan of Lazy
As one would imagine, my Hands Free mentality causes me to be overly aware of the usage of hand held communication devices. What interests me most are not the times I see people using their phones, it’s the times I … Continue reading
Tipping The Scales
On the way home from my Mother’s Day dinner, my daughters asked if we could visit the pet store. My husband and I happily oblige our daughters’ requests for pet store visits as these adventures allow us to put off … Continue reading

Did You Get The Memo?
The readers of this blog have been doing something I wasn’t expecting. But as I have discovered on this journey, the most meaningful things come unplanned; the most powerful things come unexpectedly. This is YOUR story… A few weeks ago … Continue reading
The Trip To Nowhere
What I am about to tell you may surprise you. It is not something I like to advertise about myself. In fact, very few people know this about me. I have a problem, but I have managed to hide it … Continue reading
No Thanks Necessary
The week before Easter, I had a proposal for the good people of The Hands Free Revolution. I asked that we ban together and collectively recognize those who are underappreciated and often forgotten. And our targets were the faithful trash … Continue reading

There May Be Tears
On Valentine’s Day, my daughters and I put a little happiness in one of the most unsuspecting places for people who least suspected it. We remembered those who are often forgotten. And the results were profound. Our trash collectors were … Continue reading
