Welcome!
I’m going Hands Free. I want to make memories, not to-do-lists. I want to feel the squeeze of my daughter's arms, not the pressure of over-commitment. I want to get lost in conversation with my spouse, not consumed by a sea of unimportant emails. I want to be overwhelmed by sunsets that give me hope, not by extracurricular commitments that steal my joy. I want the noise of my life to be a mixture of laughter and gratitude, not the intrusive buzz of cell phones and text messages. I am letting go of distraction, disconnection, and perfection to live a life that simply, so very simply, consists of what really matters. I’m going Hands Free. And if this sounds like a life you want to start living, come along. A Hands Free revolution starts here! I hope you will join me!Join The Hands Free Revolution on Facebook

I Had It All
Last weekend I was inspired by my readers to “raise the bar” on my growing desire to live Hands Free. So I did something that was challenging for me. I turned off my hand held communication device and my computer … Continue reading

The Angel Impact
A few weeks ago, I celebrated a birthday. I was overwhelmed with kindness from all directions…family, friends, even strangers who have become part of my life through this blog. Several of my closest friends planned to take me out to … Continue reading
The Beauty Inside The Fold
Before I became Hands Free I loathed folding clean laundry. The unsightly mile-high heap created a persistent bother (similar to a wart) whenever I caught sight of it passing by the laundry room. Eventually, I couldn’t stand the eyesore any … Continue reading

Grasp Your Heartstrings
I rarely, if ever, tell people that I played the violin beginning at age five until the end of high school. My husband loves to tell the story of how we had been married several years when my dad said, … Continue reading
The Hands Free Revolution: Holiday Style
Things were different this year. And not just at my house. -One family took a seventeen hour train ride from Florida to Virginia totally Hands Free. When I looked at the photos they shared, I could practically hear the perceptive … Continue reading

Collecting Hellos
As I have tried to become more Hands Free, I have been able to leave more things undone, and limit the things that take time away from what really matters. Coincidentally, this has allowed me to feel less rushed during … Continue reading
